Selection into Surgical Education and Training
Registration and Timelines
Applicants intending to apply for selection into the Surgical Education and Training Program must register via the RACS website. The RACS registration is from 7 – 31 January 2025. Applicants not registered will not be able to lodge an application. Refer to the RACS Registration for Selection into Surgical Education and Training Policy for further details on registration and selection timelines.

Key dates and information for selection into SET in 2026 (application in 2025)
Applications open for those who have registered with RACS on 19 February 2025 at www.vascularsurgeryapplications.com.au. Registered applicants may use the log on and password received from the office of the ANZSVS via email by 14 February 2025.

Notification of shortlisting for Interview: | Applicants will be notified 10 business days prior to interview. |
Interviews will be held in-person at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Clinical Skills Development Centre | 21 June 2025 |
Notification of outcome: | 25 July 2025 |
In 2025, the selection process will use the following selection tools, each contributing a weighted score as:
Structured Curriculum Vitae 25%
Written Referee Reports 25%
Verbal Referee Reports 10%
Semi-Structured Interview 40%
Interviews
Interviews will be offered on a ratio of three (3) applicants to one (1) available accredited SET 1 post. Applicants will be invited to interview based on ranked order of the combined CV and referee report score.
