Registration and Timelines
Applicants intending to apply for selection into the Surgical Education and Training Program must register via the RACS website. The RACS registration is from 6 – 30 January 2026. Applicants who are not registered will not be able to lodge an application. Refer to the RACS Registration for Selection into Surgical Education and Training Policy for further details on registration and selection timelines.
Please note, the CV Scoring Guidelines are to assist applicants assessing their experience and only provide applicable entries in the online application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure each entry is in the applicable section of the application and categorised appropriately.

Key dates and information for selection into SET in 2027 (application in 2026)
Applications will open for those who have registered with RACS on Monday 23 February 2026 at www.vascularsurgeryapplications.com.au. Registered applicants will receive a log-in and password from the office of the ANZSVS via email by Friday 20 February 2026.

Selection tools
In 2026, the selection process will use the following selection tools, each contributing a weighted score as:
Structured Curriculum Vitae 25%
Written Referee Reports 25%
Verbal Referee Reports 10%
Semi-Structured Interview 40%
Interviews
Interviews will be offered on a ratio of three (3) applicants to one (1) available accredited SET 1 post. Applicants will be invited to interview based on ranked order of the combined CV and referee report score.
